We will have many new temporary displays in 2010.
Dawn Fashion Doll At 40 - The Topper Toys 6 1/2" Dawn doll is 40 years old in 2010. Dawn and her many friends offer a tiny window into the high fashions of the early 1970s. Joedi Johnson, the author of Dawn & Her World: An Identification and Price Guide book and a collector for over two decades, will have the highlights of her collection on display to celebrate. We currently have a 1970 store display for Dawn and the book available for sale. We hope to add to the display in the late fall or early winter of 2010 if space is available.
Bakelite: The Beginning Of The Plastic Age - Come see a display of jewelry, toys and household items made from this colorful early plastic.
Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls - We have both bisque and hard plastic examples on display. Display also includes Muffie and Her Royal Majesty Style Show.

LECTURE SERIES
Our first lecture in February 2009 on dolls as investment was well recieved and the September 2009 Mary Ann Spinelli lecture on the difference between French and German bisque dolls was out of this world. If you have more lecture topics to suggest please email us with your ideas. All lectures are free to members of the Legacy Doll Museum and $5.00 for non-members which includes admission to the museum for that day.
Many thanks to Mary Ann Spinelli (see the link to her website on our links page). Her lecture and display on German and French bisque dolls was amazing and just what we hope to offer here at the museum. It was great to get to see some of these rare dolls and hear about them from such an expert. Mary Ann answered many questions and we all thought we might need to think more about our collecting. Thank you so much Mary Ann!
We want to have a clinic for doll friends. We have not set the date but this will be an event to help you get to know your dolls better. We hope to focus on getting outfits and accessories that are true to the spirit of the time your doll friend. We hope to have information on textiles and designs appropriate for different time periods. We are also hoping to offer some options for repairs. Let us know what you would like to see at the clinic.
